Fed sees economy improving,

March-13-2012 --The Federal Reserve upgraded its outlook Tuesday, saying it expects the economy to grow moderately this year, but the central bank held to its forecast that interest rates will likely stay near zero until at least 2014.

Jobless Rates Decline in Key States
March-13-2012--Joblessness remains high but has fallen in a handful of states expected to be closely contested in November, a turnaround from a year ago that has shifted the political debate in the presidential election. 
U.S. unemployment declined to 8.3% in January from 9.1% a year earlier, and the drop was more pronounced in a group of states that could tilt the election, Labor Department data released.
